    Hey everybody,

Just thought you might like to see some new Joss pics. He loves keeping his Dad from playing Rock Band! Whenever I try to get in some Rock Band time, he kinda gets to take it over. Anyways, click on Joss to see more:

It seems my recent posts are all due to promised made to individuals. Today’s post was promised to little Miss Phoebe P. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

I promised a friend that I would post a new blog today. I am fulfilling my promise. Yes yes, I know, it’s been a while.

Today was a great day. Spring is starting to arrive. The sun is shining a little more, but the air is still a bit crisp. I have a full humidor that has been begging to be broken into, so I decided to smoke a nice little cigar. It was lovely to enjoy the nature of my backyard, watching squirrels run along the power lines, and just take in the peace. Things have been decent. Work is okay, but my new shift is a bit taxing. The workload has lightened up just a little bit, which is helpful.

I feel like I need to go somewhere. I haven’t been somewhere in a while. I had an amazing time during my little golf trip back in October with Zeb. I would love to do that again. I have missed playing golf and haven’t played since that trip. That was also the second to last cigar I smoked. I was recently given a lovely 15 year old cigar, and I just had to give that a shot. It was very tasty.

Anyways, tomorrow is Easter, and we are heading down to my Mom’s house so that Joss can hang out with his Grandma. I am planning on taking the camera, so I may have some newer pics for you all to see.

First off, yes… I’m well aware that I’ve suffered in my blogging duties. Busy time of year for the company, school, and the boy. He’s walking now! It’s a whole different world now. He can get into more stuff now, so we are running around after him all the time.

The other night, our neighbor stopped by and invited us to a home poker game that he was going to hold. We figured this could be fun as we could put Joss to bed and then just bring our baby monitor over to hear him if he started crying. We would only be one wall away.

$10 dollar buy-ins and we are off. The evening started pretty bad for me. I flopped a set and put in about a quarter of my chips. I ended up losing to a flush… to CATIE!!! It’s true. She totally kicked my ass with some pocket cards I probably wouldn’t have kept. So then I go into conservative mode. Only betting when I had something of substance and folding often. Slowly, people start busting out one by one. I had no hand in any of them. We are down to 3 heads. Myself and the other 2 guys. I bump up my play. I bust out the other guy and it’s just me and the neighbor guy. I’ve never played heads up before, let alone tournament style. He keeps stealing my blinds with some big bets, but I keep patient. Finally I get pocket kings. I bet it up and pray for a call. He calls. Heh heh. So I am really proud when I hold back a slight smile when I flop a third king, a ten and a 4. Oh now I’m feeling a little better. I bet moderately high, and I get a call. Okay. I start to worry that maybe he’s got something. Here comes a turn. It’s another 10… Full House! Okay… I bet a little higher, he calls me All In. I call. He has a set of 4s. The only card that can save him is another 4. River brings a deuce. I win. I freakin’ win!

I’ve never won a tournament, and glad that walked away from my first one with $100. He plans on holding these home tournaments monthly, so I should get to play a little more often. Maybe one day I will get the guts to play in a casino…
